Harvey's

John Harvey set up the Bridge Wharf Brewery beside the River Ouse in Lewes in 1790. Its Victorian tower brewhouse of 1880 is a listed building, and the family still runs the company, with about 45 pubs, mostly in Sussex. Sussex Best Bitter won the best bitter class at CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival in 2005 and 2006, and the BJCP lists it as a classic best bitter. Keg and canned beers arrived only in 2016.
