Gösser

The nuns of Göss Abbey brewed beer, and a brewer at the convent is first recorded in 1459. After the abbey was dissolved, Max Kober bought part of its buildings in 1860 and brewed again. Gösser is now part of Brau Union Österreich, owned by Heineken since 2003, which calls it Austria’s best-known and best-selling beer brand. Gösser Märzen is an Austrian Märzen.
