Cervecería Chile
Argentina’s Quilmes group built a brewery in Santiago in 1991 for US$30 million to make Becker. In 1993 it launched Báltica, a strong lager of 5.8%, which was later brewed under licence in Uruguay and Bolivia. When InBev took over Quilmes in 2006, Cervecería Chile came with it. Its brands now include Becker, Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois and Michelob Ultra, distributed since 2020 by Chile’s Coca-Cola bottlers. CCU calls it its largest beer competitor, and in March 2026 Cervecería Chile renewed its case against CCU over exclusive contracts with bars and restaurants.
