Carlow Brewing (O'Hara's)
The brothers Seamus and Eamonn O’Hara founded the brewery in 1996. The big brands then had Irish bars to themselves, so it sold abroad first. O’Hara’s Irish Stout and Irish Red both run at 4.3% alcohol; the range also takes in a pale ale, a stronger stout called Leann Folláin and a wheat beer, Curim Gold. Hijos de Rivera, the maker of Estrella Galicia, bought a 32% stake in 2017. Seamus O’Hara founded the trade body of Ireland’s independent brewers in 2013.
