Budweiser Budvar
The brewery opened in 1895 as the Český akciový pivovar, and the Budvar trademark dates from 1930. It is still a národní podnik, a national enterprise owned by the Czech state. A long trademark dispute with Anheuser-Busch means it sells as Czechvar in North America. In 2025 it brewed a record 1.946 million hectolitres. Its Original is a pale lager of 11.99°; Budvar 33 and a dark lager stand beside it.
