Astor Birra
Three friends from the Colegio Nacional de La Plata started Astor Birra in Tolosa, La Plata. It is known for careful technique and barrel experiments. In May 2026 the Copa Argentina de Cervezas named it brewery of the year, as in 2021, with golds for RIS Café, an imperial stout, a West Coast IPA and De pronto Saaz, an Italian pils. It also won the South Beer Cup, open only to the previous year’s gold medallists from seven South American countries. Astor also brews a Czech-style pale lager and hazy IPAs.
